T.I. just can’t seem to play things straight, as evidenced by the fiasco that ensued after he was sprung from federal custody on Wednesday.
The Arkansas prison system released the rapper early and ordered him to complete the rest of his sentence at an Atlanta halfway house some 375 miles away.
VH1 picked up their reality star in a luxury motor coach and transported him in a caravan that included four other vehicles. The trip was reportedly captured by a film crew for use in an upcoming reality show that will chronicle T.I. as he gets his life back together.
When T.I. stepped out of his ride he was dressed in a red and black stripped polo shirt and looked like a man without a care in the world.
The community living facility, T.I.’s temporary home, promptly called federal authorities when the entourage pulled up to their curb, after deeming the transport and film crew scenario suspect.
It wasn’t long before T.I. was being escorted to an alternate location, the Atlanta Federal Penitentiary. According to the prison website, they show that T.I. will be their guest until September 29 — his new release date.
With seven months already under his belt on a weapons violation, the musician appears to be on the hook for another month in federal custody before he transitions to the Atlanta halfway house. For the records, employees there indicate that they will not allow any filming inside their walls.
VH1 announced on Wednesday that they plan to air the first episode of the yet untitled show on December 5, 2011.
