Susan Downey is pregnant. She and actor Robert Downey Jr. are expecting their first child after six years of marriage.
Their rep said, “Robert and Susan could not be more excited over this news. They can’t wait to welcome this new baby into their wonderful family.”
The couple told family members about Susan’s pregnancy three weeks ago. The baby is due in February.
Susan, 37, was the Executive Vice President of Production at Silver Pictures until 2009 when she stepped down to work more closely with her husband. They have since formed their own production company, Team Downey.
He credits her for helping him to kick his drug and alcohol habits. “The old saying is true — behind every good man there’s an incredible woman. I owe a huge amount of my success to Susan.”
In addition to a new baby, the couple have hooked up with Warner Bros. to produce the family drama The Judge.
The actor has an 18-year-old son Indio, who was born during the actor’s 12-year marriage to Deborah Falconer.
