Reggie Bush and the Miami Dolphins have reached an agreement on a new contract.
According to a source, Bush’s agent and the Dolphins worked into the wee hours of Thursday morning hammering out a deal to make the trade from the Saints official.
The 26-year-old running back is expected to fly to Miami to sign the new two-year contract, which is reportedly worth $10 million.
Bush, the number two pick of the 2006 NFL Draft, was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the first round. He won the Heisman Trophy in 2005, but gave back the award last year after an investigation by the NCAA determined he accepted money and gifts while playing at USC.
Bush seemed to know his time with the Saints was over in April, when he tweeted, “It’s ben fun New Orleans.”
