The all-star cast of “Snow White and the Huntsman,” including Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron, joined producers Joe Roth and Palak Patel, and director Rupert Sanders for a panel discussion at Comic-Con, and gave us a first look at the film’s characters.
“It’s not a little girl sitting by a well with tweety birds telling her what’s going on,” director Rupert Sanders told the panel.
Theron, who said she just met Stewart, “but I know she’s going to give me a run for her money. And I’m ready for it bitch, let’s go!”
Stewart, who plays Snow White, told the panel, “This girl has the amazing ability to channel fear, things that people are typically afraid to do, into this really focused, really charged, driving energy.”
“She truly does not let her heart cloud her mind,” Stewart added. “Also, I get to have a sword and stuff, and really cool weapons.”
Theron, who plays the Evil Queen, told the panel, “It’s important to find out where she came from and how she got to where she is.”
“She’s dark. She’s a serial killer. I’m pretty much preparing to play a serial killer, and that’s interesting, trying to ground it and make it clear,” Theron continued.
Sam Claflin gives us a hint into his Prince Charming character (whose name has been changed to Prince Charmant in this telling of the fairytale): “The prince is not necessarily as charming as one would hope…but in a good way,” he said.
Chris Hemsworth is cast as the Huntsman, Thor — a mercenary who decides to spare Snow White rather than follow the queen’s orders to cut her heart out.
Another revelation: There will be eight dwarves in this adaptation, with one of them being killed off during the film.
Filming for Snow White and the Huntsman begins next week. The movie will hit theaters June 1, 2012.
