Amy Winehouse has canceled concerts in Istanbul and Athens after a disastrous appearance Saturday night in Serbia.

Fans in Serbia’s capital of Belgrade booed and jeered, with many walking out in disappointment, as Winehouse stumbled around on stage, mumbled through lyrics, dropped her microphone and wandered off for periods of time.

The troubled singer, who has struggled with alcohol and drugs, was over an hour late for the concert which was to be the kickoff to her European tour.

“It was horrible,” said one fan. “She should have canceled the whole thing rather than appear like this.”

The concert was “the worst in the history of Belgrade,” said The Blic daily, a Serbian tabloid newspaper.

Reps for Winehouse issued a statement, saying, her remaining concerts would be “worked out as soon as possible.”
