Jones, Scherzinger, Reid, Abdul, Cowell, Cole …
FOX series The X Factor, currently in audition mode, is already undergoing a change within the judging ranks. Former Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger has stepped in as a replacement for Cheryl Cole of Girls Aloud.
After reviewing the segments that have already been taped, the producers felt that the 27-year-old British entertainer’s accent would be too difficult for American audiences to understand. Another strike against her was the fact that she was not meshing well with fellow judge Paula Abdul.
Scherzinger, a 2010 mirror ball trophy winner on Dancing with the Stars, was already part of the production, serving as co-host with Steve Jones. She has since been elevated to the position of judge.
Rounding out the judging panel are the show’s creator Simon Cowell and record executive L.A. Reid.
Check out another photo of Cheryl and Paula. Can you detect any signs of bad blood between these celebs? Are Cole’s claws out?
