The American Idol finale week kicked off last night on Fox. Talented teen singers Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina performed three songs in front of a live audience at the Nokia Theatre in L.A. — despite some drama prior to the broadcast.
It turns out that Lauren experienced swollen vocal cords and a doctor had to be called in to treat her laryngitis. During her final rehearsal before the judges, she went through the motions but did not tax her voice.
Rumors swirled that Haley Rinehart might be called back into the competition if the ailing finalist couldn’t compete.
The show did go on as scheduled and this was the evening repertoire of the dynamic teen duo:
Who will win American Idol Season 10 tonight? McCreery, a dead ringer for the Mad magazine mascot, has been the ‘one to beat’ throughout the competition. Will the sweet Georgia girl follow in the footsteps of another Idol winner Carrie Underwood?
The finale will air Wednesday night on Fox beginning at 8/7 central.
