Following the October announcement that David Arquette and his wife Courteney Cox had separated, the actor quickly began to spin out of control. This past weekend he checked himself into an unidentified treatment facility for treatment of alcohol issues and depression.
The craziness started in October when Arquette made his first of many calls to radio personality Howard Stern. He talked freely about sexual escapades with Jasmine Waltz and the fact that Cox was finished being his mother.
Cox, gracious as always, spoke with People magazine: “I really admire David and his choice to take charge and better his life. I love and support him.”
The Scream actor has not hidden his heartbreak–calling the split personal and traumatic. Before entering rehab David hosted a New Year’s Eve party at his Arquette and Beacher’s Madhouse Theater in Los Angeles.
David and Courteney have been married for eleven years and have a six-year-old daughter Coco.
