Dawn Holland, the Betty Ford Center employee who was fired after accepting $15K in exchange for a first hand account of an altercation with Lindsay Lohan, seems to have had a change of heart.
According to her lawyer Keith Davidson, “Dawn will not continue with her plan to press charges against Lindsay, nor will she be assisting any further in the investigation or prosecution.”
Davidson went on to explain that because Holland understands Lindsay’s struggle, as a former addict herself, she does not want to do anything that would hinder Lilo’s progress, cause a probation violation, or lead to an arrest.
Even if subpoenaed, Holland will not cooperate. According to her legal eagle: “A crime has quite simply not been committed by Ms. Lohan.”
This all sounds very noble but there are extenuating circumstances that have caused Holland to backpedal. Her former employer was compelled to report that a crime involving HIPAA privacy laws had been committed. A federal investigation has been launched — a fact that doesn’t bode well for Dawn Holland.
There is still one issue looming. If Betty Ford employees officially notify Judge Fox that Lindsay refused a breathalyzer, she could still face the heavy hand of the court system.
