Dancing with the Stars: Season 11, Week 8
The final five contestants are vying this week in the quarter-finals of Dancing with the Stars on the ABC hit reality show. Season 11 performance night shows have averaged 20 million viewers and 16 million have been tuning in for the elimination episode.
The tough challenge during Week 8 was that the dance pairs performed two dances and had to rehearse one of them without music. They didn’t get their second song until they were live in front of millions. They dashed back to their studios for twenty minutes of additional rehearsal.
The remaining Season 11 dance contestants are Kurt Warner, 39, Kyle Massey, 19, Brandy Norwood, 31, Bristol Palin, 20, and Jennifer Grey, 50, who is struggling with an extremely inflamed knee.
Round 1: Kyle and Lacey 27; Jennifer and Derek quickstep 27, Kurt and Anna waltz 24, Bristol and Mark tango 24, Brandy and Maks waltz 29.
Instant Dance: Kyle jive – Good Golly Miss Molly 29 (56). Jennifer rumba – Waiting For a Girl Like You 30 (57). Kurt cha cha cha – Hella Good 24 (48). Bristol samba – Mas Que Nada 23 (47). Brandy cha cha cha – Teenage Dream 28 (57).
Maks got into a war of words with Carrie Ann and then with Len over his choreography. Both thought the instant dance should have begun with the opening beats of their second song. He continued to diss the judges while speaking with Brooke Burke following the judges scores — despite the fact that they are tied at the top of the leaderboard.
Seven celebrity contestants have already been sent packing: David Hasselhoff, Michael Bolton, Margaret Cho, Mike ‘The Situation’, Florence Henderson, Audrina Patridge and Rick Fox.
Who will be eliminated during Week 8? It is anyone’s guess. This has become a real popularity contest – with Kyle, Bristol and Kurt all surviving week after week. We must say that Bristol looked more confident this week than she has ever looked — which is likely to keep her around.
The semi-finals are next week and the finale will air November 22 and 23.
