The Hug Family: Bertrand and Denise, with son Julien
The former Bachelorette contestant Julien Hug took his own life, according to his father Bertrand Hug. The well-known restaurateur confirmed that his son committed suicide by gunshot.
Hug’s body was found in the Southern California desert on Wednesday, two days after his family reported him missing – details and photos.
Julien’s father said: “He left a letter for me, his mom, co-workers, and his girlfriend of two years – Jennifer Bell. He wanted us to know it was his only way out. He was depressed and struggling, and nobody knew. He couldn’t find his way.”
A public funeral service is planned for next Friday, Nov. 12. The family has established the Julien Hug Foundation, and has requested donations in lieu of flowers.
