Danni Starr and J. Lewis
Newcomer to the music industry J. Lewis stopped by my radio show this week and I just had to share the experience with all of our Bitten and Bound readers. With a style somewhere between Jason Mraz and John Mayer, the singer blew my mind when he whipped out his guitar and performed an acoustic medley.
J. opened up about his struggle in starting his music career. He used to do the coffee house scene–all the while waiting tables to make ends meet.
The easygoing and extremely likable guy confided in me that his career really took off when one of his tracks featuring Flo Rida leaked on the internet. He has met Prince and Jason Mraz and walked away from touring with Britney Spears.
It was exciting to hear someone sound so great doing an impromptu live performance and to witness firsthand his passion for music. J. hopes to release his debut album in the next year and cites Lil Wayne‘s Young Money Crew as a musical inspiration because “they are taking over. “
The up-and-comer is on Twitter and urges you to follow him at jlewisonline. After the interview I jokingly ‘tweeted’ to J. that I couldn’t wait to illegally download his music. He proved to have a sense of humor with his response:
I have high hopes for this kid. He’s the whole package for sure: good looks, charming and immensely talented. His single has just begun to heat up the charts.
