Former teen idol David Cassidy was pulled over by the Florida Highway Patrol on Wednesday night and was arrested for DUI.
The 60-year-old, driving a 2008 Mercedes, was observed weaving all over the roadway at 8:00 p.m. on the Florida Turnpike.
The arresting officer wrote in his report that Cassidy was “swaying while standing”. The former child star told the trooper that he had a glass of wine at lunch time and took a hydrocodone tablet for pain a few hours before the arrest.
A search of the car revealed a half empty bottle of bourbon in the backseat.
Cassidy was taken to a nearby jail and booked for DUI after the arresting officer determined that his breathalyzer readings were 0.139 and 0.141 — far exceeding the legal limit of 0.08.
Another celebrity arrested this week was former Miss America emcee Gary Collins–his fourth alcohol related hit-and-run infraction in ten years.
