It was storytelling night on the hit ABC reality show Dancing with the Stars Monday, October 4. It turns out that some of the couples were better able to pull it off than others.

At the top of the show came the revelation that Tuesday night’s planned performance by Britain’s Got Talent alum Susan Boyle was canceled because she has a throat infection and was advised by her doctor not to attempt to sing Hallelujah.

Tom Bergerson announced that Michael Bolton has graciously consented to provide the entertainment for this weeks elimination show. Now THAT will be interesting. Of course the big question remains…will Bruno Tonioli apologize for his caustic remarks that upset Bolton and his 90-year-old mother, who was in the audience? Stay tuned…

Back to business. Audrina Patridge won the evening with an impressive 26 for an impressive waltz. This must certainly feel foreign to her pro partner Tony Dovolani, who had the misfortune of trying to mold non-dancer Kate Gosselin last season.

Jennifer Grey and Rick Fox scored 24, as did Brandy. The relationship between the good-natured and high strung songstress and her partner Maksim is the most problematic according to the judges, who took exception to the way Chmerkovskiy manhandled and dominated the cheerful diva. She professed to “needing” that extra push to keep her from getting lazy. In some quarters his behavior would be construed as abusive – check it out below and let us know what you think.

Coming in at 23 were former NFL QB Kurt Warner and fan favorite teen Kyle Massey, who has managed to win the heart of judge Carrie Ann Inaba and this writer as well. Go Kyle!

Florence Henderson and Corky performed a sweet waltz to Edelweiss that the judges admitted was touching but lacked even an iota of difficulty. They were awarded a 20, along with The Situation and his partner Anna – who have not managed to gel.

Down in troubled territory this week are Bristol Palin with 19 and comedian Margaret Cho at 18. We don’t think fans will forsake Palin yet but the funny woman is definitely in jeopardy, despite the fact that she has buckled down after a dismal first performance and has shown vast improvement.
