During the week 3 elimination show on Dancing with the Stars, Michael Bolton performed in place of Susan Boyle, who was sidelined in the 11th hour due to a throat infection. With just a few hours of practice, he stepped in and sang the song that she was slated to sing – Hallelujah. Check out the video below.
Show host Tom Bergeron spoke with the veteran musician after his performance and said to the audience: “Wouldn’t you say that it was a triumphant return for Michael Bolton?” They showed their appreciation with a standing ovation.
Bolton was eliminated last week after his Hound Dog performance fell flat. Judge Bruno Tonioli provided scathing feedback that didn’t sit well with the singer or his 90-year-old mother, who was in the audience. The day after he got the boot, the crooner demanded a public apology and suggested that Tonioli should be reprimanded by ABC.
Neither of those ‘suggestions’ held any sway with show executives, who defended Bruno’s actions as “part of his job.”
