Things got a little odd Monday night on Dancing With the Stars, when the audience erupted into loud boos as Tom Bergeron was preparing to interview Sarah Palin from her front row vantage point in the audience.

Co-host Brooke Burke was ending an interview with front-runner Jennifer Grey and her pro partner Derek Hough when the booing first sounded. She actually said: “There’s booing in the ballroom. We don’t know why.” The camera’s then picked up Bergeron and former governor Palin.

Media outlets had a heyday with the news this morning, reporting that the former vice-presidential candidate had been dissed by the DWTS audience.

This news is not sitting well with the host of the popular ABC reality show. In fact, expect to hear about it on Tuesday night during the results show.

Tom Bergeron is prepared to show the outburst from two different camera angles to clarify that it was directed at Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli – and not at Bristol Palin‘s mama.
