Eric Dane, aka Dr. McSteamy, plays Dr. Mark Sloan on the popular television drama Grey’s Anatomy. He recently noticed a lesion on his lip and decided to check with a dermatologist and it’s a good thing he did. The actor has skin cancer. The malignant tissue was caused by sun exposure.
Dane appears in the upcoming issue of OK! magazine where he shares details of his recent medical journey. The 35 year old actor revealed that the cancerous tissue was removed by a freezing process with the use of liquid nitrogen. After care included applying a cream to the area. He suffered an adverse reaction and had several weeks of problems that made it difficult to eat, causing a 10 pound weight loss.
