Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones has come under fire over an infamous slap that he executed against a woman outside of Body Tap Strip Club on January 3rd. Make no mistake – this slap was aimed at the wrong gal. He ended up belting a defense attorney. That’s when all hell broke loose for the NFL cornerback of the Tennessee Titans organization.

The injured lawyer, Wanda Jackson, was on the premises as legal counsel to one of the owners. She first witnessed an agitated Jones, who broke into a meeting that she was having in an office. It was when she had finished the meeting and was exiting the building through a hallway that the physical altercation took place.

Jackson was not amused or in a conciliatory mood. She promptly filed an arrest warrant against him in Fulton County Magistrate Court. This got the attention of NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. He promptly sanctioned Jones by suspending him for one year.

It’s interesting that when a player is no longer in playoff mode, these kinds of decisions can be made at the drop of a hat. Now let’s picture how this might have played out if he had been playing for the Patriots or Giants. They would have hemmed and hawed for weeks before making the same sanction.
