Jonathan Rhys Meyers was arrested while trying to board an airplane in Dublin on Sunday. Officials charged the actor with public drunkenness and causing a disturbance. He was detained, booked and must return to Dublin for an arraignment on December 5.
According to police reports, Rhys Meyers exhibited erratic and abusive behavior at the airport gate and refused to calm down when ordered to do so by airport officials.
The actor entered an alcohol treatment center on April 24, 2007. At that time, his publicist said that he needed to slow down and get his life under control. It appears the actor has relapsed.
Rhys Meyers was in Dublin to promote his new movie “August Rush”.
