Celine Dion has walked away from Las Vegas after a 5 year run at Caesars Palace. Now the hard work begins – resurrecting her singing career with the rest of the world.

Dion’s “A New Day” concert on the Las Vegas strip brought in the gambling crowd in a steady stream. She split the venue with Elton John – giving each star plenty of dark nights in their theaters. It was a perfect gig – but all good things must come to an end.

The former pop diva is back and set to release a new record “Taking Chances” later this week. Celine, 39 and her manager husband Rene Angelil acknowledge that the music industry has changed significantly since she has been away. The couple are gambling on an audience for the returning musician.

Her new songs are said to be edgier and not at all like her previous sound. A few Top 40 radio stations are playing the album’s lead song “Taking Chances”. Without intending to change her sound, the singer was surprised to hear that her songs are being regarded as more mainstream pop – nothing like her previous adult contemporary vibe.

Will this be a breakthrough album for Dion. It looks like she’s poised to give it a good shot.
