Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon did a medley of hip-hop songs last night on the Late Night show. Accompanied by house band The Roots, the pair put their unique spin on an interesting rendition of Rapper’s Delight and also jammed snippets of the Beastie Boys, The Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z and Eminem.
Fallon performed songs by Missy Elliott, Tupac, Kanye West and Snoop Dogg. He said: “I was in my apartment till 2 in the morning the night before doing Soulja Boy and my wife was like, ‘You’re crazy!'”
The show host said he was shocked and pleased by the success of the rap bit. He acknowledged: “We never know what’s going to go viral or get picked up, and this one’s beyond what we thought it would do.”
Fallon hosted the Emmy Awards last month and brought down the house with his opening dance sequence that featured DWTS misfit Kate Gosselin.
