Karen Owen, a recent Duke University graduate, created an ‘unofficial senior thesis’ in the form of a 42-page Powerpoint presentation that ranked all of her sleeping partners during her collegiate years. She bragged about library sex during finals week and romps in the back of an SUV.
She called her presentation ‘An education beyond the classroom: Excelling in the realm of horizontal academics.’
She expounded in her introduction: ‘Senior year and college in general often bring about certain situations that result in the seeking of so-called “sex”. Until now, no studies have succeeded in developing a methodology for quantifying and ranking these so-called horizontal academics.’
It continued: ‘In this study, we used data from four years at Duke University to create evaluation criteria for such encounters and applied these criteria to evaluated subjects.’
The North Carolina co-ed created charts rating 13 of her former sexual conquests – 10 of them from the Duke Lacrosse team. She used colorful bar graphs to chart their sexual prowess or lack thereof. There were photos and yes… she named names. One poor guy may be ruined for life after her damning comment: “Over too quickly”.
Now that her thesis has gone viral, she reportedly has regrets. She has deleted her profiles from social websites and made a short public statement: “I regret it with all my heart. I would never intentionally hurt the people that are mentioned on that.”
