The official photographer at St. James Palace marked the announcement of the engagement of Prince William and Kate Middleton with a royal photo call.

The newly engaged couple posed with arms linked for a round of photos, including several that showcased the oval sapphire and diamond engagement ring that was previously worn by Princess Diana. Diana and Prince Charles wed in 1981 – photos here.
Also photographed on this momentous occasion was a widely smiling Queen Elizabeth, and Kate’s parents Michael Middleton and Carole Middleton.
