The Season 11 semi-final elimination on the hit ABC reality show Dancing with the Stars Tuesday ended one couple’s journey and dispatched the remaining three groups into next week’s finals. Host Tom Bergeron revealed that the show received the greatest volume of votes ever last night and it was one of the closest semi-finals ever.
The final four were actress Jennifer Grey, Disney star Kyle Massey, R&B singer Brandy and Alaska teen Bristol Palin.
Eliminated in previous weeks were: David Hasselhoff, Michael Bolton, Margaret Cho, Mike ‘The Situation’, Florence Henderson, Audrina Patridge, Rick Fox and Kurt Warner.
First to be declared safe were Jennifer & Derek. Kyle & Lacey were next to find out they would be dancing in the finals. Joining the ranks to compete next week are Bristol & Mark.
Eliminated this week was Brandy Norwood. The musician has been a front runner throughout the competition and verbalized week after week how much she wanted to win. One of the pro dancers commented tonight that she appeared too focused on the prize — wanting it too much.
The DWTS two-part finale will air November 22 and 23. The remaining three couples will be required to perform four new dances, including the popular freestyle.
