Donald Trump sat down with Meredith Vieira on NBC’s Today Show in the latest appearance on his media blitz, and has once again incited controversy.
Trump says blames a lot of the country’s problems on President Obama. “This country is going to hell,” Trump tells Vieira. “The world laughs at us,” he continues. “They won’t be laughing if I’m president.”
Trump continues to question whether the president has a U.S. birth certificate, and says he has people in Hawaii investigating the issue. “I’m not convinced he has one,” he tells Vieira. “I’d like to have him show his birth certificate.”
Although the latest Wall Street Journal/NBC poll places Trump in second place behind Mitt Romney among primary voters for the Republican nomination for president, Trump says he won’t make a decision on declaring his candidacy until June, due to his “Celebrity Apprentice” obligations.
