Actor Liam Neeson made headlines when he was cast in The Hangover 2, and now he’s out. Ordinarily we wouldn’t consider this type of minor change up newsworthy, except for the fact that he landed the cameo to replace hot head Mel Gibson.

The Hangover 2 cast and crew members were very vocal about not wanting Mel associated with the project so Liam was quickly brought in to shoot his part. There was only one thing wrong with this little switcheroo — director Todd Phillips had to remove the scene immediately following Neeson’s tattoo artist portrayal, which required having Neeson reshoot his bit part.

Liam nixed that idea because he is currently shooting Wrath of the Titans in England. The role was turned over to Nick Cassavetes. According to Phillips: “Nick crushed it.” We’re guessing that Mel is smiling quietly over this one.

This time around the wolfpack experiences a bad case of deja vu when they awake after a night of partying, in a foreign country, missing a member of their party — again.
