Hips Don’t Lie singer Shakira is known for shaking her thing but there is so much more to the entertainer. She is also deeply committed to aiding education in Colombia.
Shakira helped on Monday with the ground breaking of her seventh school in Colombia, funded by her Barefoot Foundation charity. The new facility will serve 1,500 students and include science labs, technology and audiovisual centers, and sports fields.
The musician said during a brick laying media event: “I want to thank so many people–because this has been identified as a high risk area, that a lot of other governments would have simply thrown into the waste basket.”
