Jeff Conaway is dead at the age of 60. The actor was taken off life support weeks after he was found unconscious due to an apparent overdose of prescription pills.
The “Grease” and “Taxi” star’s ex-girlfriend, Vikki Lizzi, who found the actor in his home on May 11, went to court to try to prevent his family from pulling the plug.
Conaway and Lizzi had a tumultuous relationship, and the Conaway family had placed a restraining order against her on May 19 that had since been dropped.
Lizzi claimed she had power of attorney over Conaway and contacted her lawyer in an effort to stop the life support removal.
Conaway had been in a medically induced coma. His condition was made worse due to pneumonia and the deadly blood infection sepsis. After being told by doctors there was no hope for recovery, his family made the decision to remove him from life support on Thursday.
