Bam Margera was Ryan Dunn’s best friend …
Bam Margera found out about the death of his best friend Ryan Dunn while in Arizona. He immediately got on a plane and spent the next six hours “in pure agony” as he headed to Pennsylvania to visit the crash site.
In a tearful interview with a FOX reporter, Margera said: “He was the happiest person ever, the smartest person, with so much talent. He had so many things going for him. It’s just not right, it’s not right.”
He told the WTXF reporter that he had a premonition. “At 12:30 (local time), I just started punching out the windows of the rental van and ripping out the speakers, and I don’t even know why. I wasn’t mad at anything or anybody. If it was 12:30 in Arizona, that means it was exactly when he crashed.”
Margera took movie critic Roger Ebert to task for Twitter comments that referred to his dead friend in unflattering and inflammatory terms – their ‘tweet’ battle here.
Crash scene investigators did an accident reconstruction that determined that Dunn’s Porsche might have been traveling as fast as 130mph when it jumped a guardrail, flew into a ravine and burst into flames, killing Ryan Dunn and Zachary Hartwell instantly – photos here.
Officials are awaiting toxicology results to determine if alcohol was a contributing factor.
