Colonel Gaddafi – DEAD
CNN reported Thursday morning that Colonel Moammar Gaddafi was killed after being found in a hole in Sirte, Libya. An alternate spelling of his name is el-Qaddafi and Gadhafi.
Television network Al Jezeera and Libyan state television indicate that the dictator was killed during a gun battle. Reports are sketchy but multiple graphic photos have been released amid reports that the remaining loyalists in the town of Sirte have been defeated, resulting in the death of Qaddafi.
The 69-year-old, dressed in military garb, was shot in the head and body by rebels after being pulled from a large cement storm-water drain.
Gaddafi, accused of crimes against humanity by The Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands, was ousted from power in mid-August as Nato and rebel forces started closing the net on Tripoli.
