At least one fake wedding ceremony took place …
Lizzie Post, the author of Emily Post’s Etiquette, claims that the short duration of the Kim Kardashian marriage signals that all gifts should be returned to the giver.
The reality star talked about the split during an Australian interview, restating her intention to make a donation to the Dream Foundation as opposed to giving back the wedding loot.
According to Post, “The gifts should be returned to the givers if the wedding is dissolved within a short timeframe like hers was.”
The expert explained, “I don’t want to come across as saying that charity wouldn’t be a great way to handle it. It’s just that in that case, you’re making a charitable donation on someone else’s behalf under your name, and receiving the tax write-off too.”
Post believes that the family will have a change of heart regarding their hasty decision. She believes that not only should the gifts be returned, but a note should be included thanking them for their generosity and continued support.
Regarding the subject of the $2 million 20.5-carat engagement ring, Kim’s mother Kris Jenner made waves when she was asked about it on Good Morning America. Her response, “I hate an Indian giver. It’s a gift. Keep your gift.”
So tell us, is Mama Jenner’s logic and choice of words solid or half-baked?
