David Nelson, a wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills, celebrated his touchdown yesterday by presenting the ball to his girlfriend Kelsi Reich. An awww moment, right? Nope.
It turns out that she was performing her duties as a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader at the opposite end of the field.
While she seemed totally delighted by his thoughtful gesture, Bills fans are hopping mad because the second quarter score at the time was Buffalo 7, Dallas 21. The Bills never scored again while the Cowboys managed to put up a total of 44 points on the scoreboard.
Bills fans went as far as to call Nelson out as a traitor on Twitter, “You embarrassed Buffalo and its fans by celebrating down 21-7 with that … skit … act (use your imagination) like you care about the game! You can showboat when ur up 30 points, not down 2 td’s on the road.”
Kelsi also hit Twitter after the game and uploaded a pic showing the TD ball along with the sentiment, “What a day. I feel so blessed and so proud. Happiest girl in the world.”
Check out the video and weigh in on the lovers moment. Sweet gesture or crazy ass?
