Jonah Mowry, 14, has gotten the attention of millions of people and he didn’t have to utter a single word. The 8th grader uploaded a YouTube video to share his story of being bullied in school and it has captured the attention of people across the nation and beyond.

His powerful message is achieved through a series of note cards that the tearful youth holds up as Sia‘s Breathe Me plays in the background.

The video is an extremely emotional testimony. Though he never actually says anything, the middle schooler’s fear, pain, and agony are obvious as the cards reveal that he has been bullied every day since first grade and he is “scared” to go back to school.

He shares a list of hurtful slurs that have been used as weapons against him, and he points out the scars caused by years of self cutting that began in second grade.

The dramatic footage, with nearly 3 million hits on YouTube, was uploaded in August but didn’t pick up steam until recently.
