Chris “Hardcore” Langer from New Richmond, WI has decided to run for President of the United States. The self-described “no nonsense kind of guy” is in for an uphill battle but he figures he has very little to lose and much to gain if it goes his way.
The divorced father or two is the co-owner of Inkfreak Inc., a tattoo shop in nearby Somerset. He dates a tattooed lady named Jinx, has been convicted of drunk driving, has his own share of tattoos and piercings, owns firearms and rides a Harley.
The 39-year-old Wisconsinite has decided to run because he is convinced that our current government leaderships has got it all wrong. He claims, “The last thing we need in the next president is a career politician or another lawyer. The president should represent the citizens of the country. That’s something we haven’t had in a long time.”
Langer has no political background but he has adopted a “go big or go home” mentality. He won’t be running his campaign in the traditional sense because he doesn’t have the money or backing but he will mount a grassroots effort using social media.
Hardcore’s Facebook page says, “I would like to hear from all of you about what you want in a president, what you think the real issues are and any ideas about how you think they can be addressed. The president should represent the people. My personal beliefs shouldn’t come into play when deciding what’s best for the American people.”
Regarding his party affiliation, he said, “I don’t even like to be labeled an independent. I’m an individual and I represent individuals.”
He admits that worst case, “I’ll end up where I am now and I’m okay with that.”
His next step is to contact all 50 states in an attempt to get his name on the ballot, “It’s going to take a lot of time on the phone and a lot of paperwork.”
As for his staff — he’s on his own so far, “I’m a do-it-yourself person. I’ve always been that kind of person. It’s kind of like, ‘If you want it done right, do it yourself.’”
The candidate has already filed his first official form. Check it out and watch Chris’s campaign video below:
