Former Beatle Ringo Starr unveiled his self-designed replica ‘Knotted Gun’ statue in London Dec. 8, the 31st anniversary of John Lennon‘s murder in NYC.
The event was in support of the Non-Violence Project, a campaign that is an urgent call to action aimed at stopping the violence affecting young people.
Ringo, 71, hopes to continue to spread Lennon’s famous message of peace. He taunted the crowd, “I am doing the best I can – how about you?”
As seen in the above photo, the veteran musician created his own design on the charity’s signature logo of the knotted gun statue, originally created by Swedish artist Carl Fredrik Reutersward as a memorial tribute to John Lennon.
The Non-Violence Foundation, a non-profit initiative, was founded in 1993 to promote social change, with representation on five continents.
