On the anniversary of the murder of John Lennon, Madame Tussauds Hollywood unveiled their new Beatles interactive display, a traveling exhibit that will be available for viewing in Los Angeles through February 2012.
The Fab Four are shown walking across a giant piano keyboard with a cityscape behind them. Lennon leads his fellow band mates Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.
The iconic British 60’s rock group is arguably the best-selling band in history. They are collectively included in Time magazine’s compilation of the 20th Century’s 100 most influential people.
Wax museum visitors dropped flowers at the feet of wax Lennon, who was gunned down at age 40 in front of his New York City apartment in December 8, 1980. His killer, Mark David Chapman was sentenced to 20 years in prison and remains incarcerated, having been denied parole six times.
Harrison succumbed to lung cancer in 2001 at the age of 58. McCartney, 69, recently married Nancy Shevell, his third wife. Ringo, 71, has been married for 30 years to actress Barbara Bach.
