Dakota Fanning covers the February 2012 issue of Cosmopolitan magazine and her dress and a banner headline have some people buzzing with outrageous indignation.
The teen will turn 18 in February and is currently one of the hottest young actresses in Hollywood with three movies in post-production and three others listed as pre-production.
Blogs and websites are riled up by the combination of a young woman in an alluring dress surrounded by sexually suggestive bullet headlines. One of the less-incendiary taunts invites you to delve into the magazine pages for a “side of her you’ve never seen.” Most of the others are quite blatant.
We’ll come to Fanning’s defense on the dress. Having witnessed a high school prom Grand March in 2011, it is quite clear that young women across the land are going for a glam look even at the tender age of 16 and 17. As for the salacious headlines … we’ll leave that for Cosmo to justify.
The UK recently banned a Marc Jacobs’ Oh, Lola! fragrance ad campaign featuring Dakota. They labeled it “too racy.”
