The internet went crazy over the weekend with reports that supermodel Heidi Klum and husband Seal had decided to divorce.
In a joint statement released to People magazine late last night they said: “While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul searching we have decided to separate.”
“We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart.”
“This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition. We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children’s sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy.“
Heidi and Seal have three children; Henry, Johan and Lou. Heidi has a daughter Leni from a previous relationship with Italian businessman Flavio Briatore.
TMZ is reporting that there was no infidelity to blame for the demise but that Heidi couldn’t handle his fiery temper. Their separation has been in the works for some time and was not a snap decision.
Seal’s latest album Soul 2 will hit stores tomorrow.
