Madonna is finally speaking out about the middle finger salute that M.I.A. executed during Sunday’s Super Bowl halftime show. Suffice it to say she wasn’t pleased.
The iconic singer did a call-in radio interview with Ryan Seacrest on Friday and had some interesting things to say about the controversial entertainer whose actions prompted NBC to apologize to viewers.
Madge told the radio jock: “I was really surprised. I didn’t know anything about it because I don’t see what’s going on beside me during a performance. I didn’t find out about it until I was in the elevator on my way out of the building. I wasn’t happy about it.”
She went on to say, “I understand it’s punk rock and everything, but to me there was such a feeling of love and good energy, and positivity, it seemed negative. It’s such a teenager … irrelevant thing to do. There was such a feeling of love and unity there. What was the point? It was just out of place.”
For the record, the British rapper is 36 … well past her teenage years.
