Nicki Minaj ditched Twitter and shut down her account Sunday, telling fans “Good f—ing bye,” after tracks from her new album were leaked on a fan site.
“Like seriously, it’s but so much a person can take,” Minaj tweeted.
Minaj shocked her more than 11 million followers when she deleted her account in protest against Web piracy after fan site NickiDaily.com leaked several songs from her upcoming album, “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.”
But, before you think about snatching up Minaj’s @nickiminaj handle, an account must be deactivated for several months before it can be reassigned. Plus, on a verified celebrity account, Twitter works with the user before any action is taken.
Minaj joins several other celebrities who have deactivated their Twitter accounts, including Chris Brown, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, and John Mayer — all of whom have returned to the social networking site.
