Gavin Smith, a longtime 20th Century Fox employee, disappeared nearly a week ago after leaving a friend’s house in Los Angeles.
The 57-year-old Fox executive left the home in the 500 block of Callwood Court in Ventura County’s Oak Park area last Tuesday night between 9:00 and 10:00 p.m.
He was driving a black, 2000 four-door Mercedes E Class (a 420 badged as a 500), with tinted window, soft racks on the roof and California license plate number 6EKT044. It is also missing.
Smith’s son, USC basketball player Evan Smith has begun a Twitter campaign to help find his father.
Police say there is no reason to believe any trouble preceded Smith’s disappearance. Before he went missing, Smith, who has worked in Fox’s distribution department for 18 years, had just returned from a movie business convention in Las Vegas.
Gavin Smith is 6 feet, 6 inches tall, 210 pounds, with green eyes and gray hair with blond highlights and a goatee. He has a four-inch scar on the inside of his right wrist and a five-inch scar on his calf.
Authorities ask that anyone with information about Gavin Smith call (800) 222-TIPS or contact detectives at 323-890-5500.
