Despite a strong showing by Clay Aiken during the final task on Celebrity Apprentice, it was Arsenio Hall who earned the coveted media boost that could help to jump start his waning career.
The season started with 18 celebrities and over the course of 15 weeks the numbers diminished until it was just one last head-to-head battle for the top prize.
The final competition involved a charity fundraising variety show. Hall and his team of comedians told jokes while Aiken and his band of entertainers performed a medley of songs that were a huge hit with ticket holders.
Arsenio brought in $150,000 while Clay and company sold their 75 performance tickets for $300,000.
Donald Trump weighed the compelling facts and decided to hire Arsenio Hall as his newest Celebrity Apprentice. His charity, The Magic Johnson Foundation, will receive $250,000.
The stand-up comedian hopes to land a late night television show now that his talents and leadership skills have been showcased over the past few months on NBC.
Clay Aiken has racked up yet another second place finish. In 2003 he lost the American Idol title to Ruben Studdard by a mere 134,000 votes out of 24 million cast. While Studdard has slipped into obscurity, Aiken earned $1.5 million last year.
