Kathie Lee Gifford led actor Martin Short down a very bad path this morning when she went on and on about the wonderful relationship he and his wife continue to share after all these years.
The unfortunate twist to their seemingly innocent conversation is the fact that Nancy Dolman Short died nearly two years ago after battling cancer.
Short, now a single parent to the couple’s three children, appeared stunned but he didn’t let on that Gifford was in way over her head. He kept a pained smile on his face and provided glib responses during the live interview to promote his latest movie Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted.
After the show KLG hit Twitter to make amends for the snafu and offered up an apology.
