Baseball legend Tommy Lasorda suffered a heart attack yesterday and is currently being cared for at a New York hospital.
Lasorda, 84, ended his coaching career in 1996 after suffered his first heart attack in 1996.
The baseball legend was in NY representing the L.A. Dodgers at the MLB draft when he was stricken.
Tommy is expected to make a full recovery from what is being described as a mild heart attack. He anticipates being released from the hospital as early as tomorrow.
Lasorda seemed in fine form on Sunday while signing autographs with another legend, Lou Piniella.
He was slated to announce the Dodgers draft picks on Monday night when he began to experience symptoms that he thought might be a case of food poisoning. A trip to the emergency room revealed the heart attack.
Joe Torre, MLB executive vice president of operations told reporters, “I talked to him this morning. He’s feeling a lot better.”
TL was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame as a manager in 1997.
