The celebrity and pro pairings for the upcoming ‘Dancing with the Stars’ All-Star season have been revealed.
Two weeks ago ABC announced the dozen returning celebrities who will vie a second time for the coveted mirrorball trophy. Now they’ve been assigned partners.
Five of the celebrities will be teamed once again with their former pros: Kirstie Alley & Maks Chmerkovskiy, Joey Fatone & Kym Johnson, Bristol Palin & Mark Ballas, Melissa Rycroft & Tony Dovolani, and Emmitt Smith & Cheryl Burke.
Will having the same partner give these contestants a leg up in the competition? Only time will tell.
The other seven will train with new partners: Pamela Anderson & Tristan MacManus, Helio Castroneves & Chelsie Hightower, Shawn Johnson & Derek Hough, Drew Lachey & Anna Trebunskaya, Gilles Marini & Peta Murgatroyd, Kelly Monaco & Val Chmerkovskiy, and Apolo Anton Ohno & Karina Smirnoff.
No word yet on the outcome of the Viewer’s Choice Vote that will result in one of these celebs joining the dancing roster: Carson Kressley, Kyle Massey or Sabrina Bryan – vote here.
Six of this season’s contestants have won, three ended up in second place and two finished third. The dark horse in the competition is Playboy model Pamela Anderson, who finished a distant sixth during season 10 but brought in huge ratings for the show.
This season’s group will now begin the process of rigorous training, with their first performance slated for Sept. 24.
