The current issue of Rolling Stone magazine features “True Blood” cast members Alexander Skarsgård, Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer nude and covered in blood.

Although it is certainly not the first time the mag has featured naked stars on it’s cover, this issue is making headlines for the sexy yet somewhat disturbing image of the bloody bodies.

In July, Rolling Stone featured Lady Gaga in a skimpy black thong.

If you make it beyond the cover of the magazine, you’ll find an interview with Moyer — who plays Bill Compton, the undead Southern Civil War veteran; Skarsgård, – vampire sheriff Eric Northman; Paquin – telepath Sookie Stackhouse, and True Blood creator Alan Ball.

“To me, vampires are sex,” Ball says. “I don’t get a vampire story about abstinence. I’m 53. I don’t care about high school students. I find them irritating and uninformed,” he continues with an obvious dig to the Twilight series.

“If we go from a base level, vampires create a hole in the neck where there wasn’t one before. It’s a de-virginization — breaking the hymen, creating blood and then drinking the virginal blood. And there’s something sharp, the fang, which is probing and penetrating and moving into it. So that’s pretty sexy,” says Moyer. “I think that makes vampires attractive. Plus, Robert Pattinson is just hot, right?” he laughs.
