America’s Got Talent returned to NBC on Monday night.

And, along with it, Simon Cowell returned to living rooms all across the country.

Always a producer of the summer hit, Cowell is now a judge, joining a panel that also includes Melanie Brown, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandell.

But a 13-year old opera singer stole the spotlight from Cowell on the season premiere.

Her name is Laura Bretan… and she’s totally amazing.

The shy Chicago student came on stage and admitted she was “nervous” to show off her talent.

We don’t know why this was the case, however, because we were blown away as soon as Laura opened her mouth.

Melanie used her golden buzzer on the prodigy to prove how amazed she was by her ability. And she wasn’t alone.

“You are born with such a gift. It is unbelievable," Klum told the teenager. "I could not stop smiling. You put me in the best mood. Wow. Loved it.”

As for the brutally honest Cowell?

“That didn’t just happen. Honest to god, you came out like a jelly. I didn’t think you’d be able to talk. And then that just happened…

"I have never heard anything like that in all the years that I’ve been doing this show. It was unbelievable. And what made it even better is the fact that you are such a sweet person, so humble, not even aware of how amazing you are. Thank you for coming on the show."

Akin to last season, use of the golden buzzer means Bretan gets to skip the next round and go right on to the live show.

What did she do to earn this status? See for yourself:
