Spring is in the air, and it is time for weddings. But most of us don’t anticipate being married unexpectedly. Or to have Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson officiate the vows.
Comedian and superman Nick Munday certainly didn’t expect it at least, especially because when he asked Johnson to be his best man in 2013, he said no.
But on Saturday, May 16, Munday was totally surprised by impromptu nuptials that were officiated by Johnson.
Like any good American, Munday was enjoying his Saturday in his American flag pants when his now-wife Dilara Karabas surprised him with the wedding.
I don’t know what would shocked me more. Suddenly being married without knowing I was about to get married. Or having The Rock perform the ceremony!
Munday was brought into an undisclosed room where his family and friends awaited for him to exchange vows.
Before the bride arrived, he threw on a jacket and combed his hair. He just wanted to look his best in his American flag pants!
"My first thought was, 'Oh sh-t, oh sh-t. I hope Dilara is cool with this.' The second one was, 'I have hat hair, I'm sweating and wearing American flag pants,’" he told The Hollywood Reporter.
He added, "And then my best man and writing partner threw my jacket on me, and the next thing I know, the Rock was walking me down the aisle and the music was starting and I signed the marriage license. The whole thing was insane."
Johnson was excited to wed the couple. He said, "It's a pleasure for me to do this. It's an honor. It's officially legal and I'm ordained by the state of California. Yeah, I go all out — because you're my bestie!"
