‘Star’ paid $8k for Bam Margera’s Jessica Simpson story

» More Star Magazine

We’re not going to let the online ink dry with tales of “respected” news outlets paying for sources. First it’s NBC with Jennifer Wilbanks, next under the red heat lamp is Star magazine’s payment to Jackass star Bam Margera. Yep, paying for editorial, geez!

We told you in the beginning of the month about Bam’s tryst with privately-single-publicly-married Jessica Simpson and that it was Bam himself and ex-girlfriend Jennifer Rivell who were sourcing the Star story about the cheating Dukes of Hazzard star.

The story appears in the latest issue of Star, on newsstands today, but not included with all the bright colors and tight captions is the dollar amount on the check handed to Margera and Rivell. That missing fact?: $8000. A bit paltry if you ask us (we wonder how much father Joe Simpson is making each time he dials 212-STAR), but it’s the most Bam could manage after waiting out till the highest bidder.

It’s lucky Bam even got that 8 Gs, actually, since every other celeb glossy told him to talk to to the hand.

UPDATE: The (very) kind folks at the office of Bam’s publicist, Shelby Meade, got in touch this afternoon (June 16). While they’re not willing to elaborate on the story, they’d like you, our readers, to know their side: “No comment, other than it’s not true that he was paid any sort of money [by Star for his story].”

We asked whether that meant Bam bammed Jessica. We were told: “No comment.” Mmm-hmm, noted!
