J Picks / About / Jossip

About: J Picks

Perhaps we’re doing it for the nookie, but Jossip likes to think we offer our favorite books, CDs and DVDs because we actually enjoy them. It’s one of those “service journalism” aspects of Jossip that publishers love so much.

J Picks can be found on the left-hand side of Jossip, underneath all those snazy creatives we pay the bills with. We post the latest (and newly rediscovered) items we thoroughly enjoy reading, listening to and watching.

While our J Picks may include a variety of mainstream titles, Jossip is all for promoting independent authors, artists and producers. We know it’s hard to get your name some recognition, but we can help.

If you just recorded a “this is so good I’m going to bust a nut” CD, wrote a “damn, I don’t mind there being so many words on every page” book or fulfilled some other lifelong “I shoulda done this before I needed Levitra” dream of yours that coincides with J Picks, let us know. Send us a copy of whatever you’re trying to schelp and we’ll see what we can do about getting it included in J Picks.

Remember, Jossip must like it for it to get listed. If you send us some heavy metal garbage CD you recorded in your basement, luck probably won’t be on your side. Otherwise, ship your goods to:

Jossip
11 Russett Lane
Storrs, CT 06268

And please write us at editor@jossip.com to give us a heads up. Include your name and contact information, a description of the item you’re sending, an online store where it can be purchased (i.e. Amazon.com, BN.com, CDBaby), some background information about you and your collaborators and a brief explanation why you think Jossip and our readers should reroute our bee-line for Krispy Kreme to land a copy.
